Along the theme of last month's story, a return to Canyon de Chelly just this past June 22nd would required a refresher on the potential of the area. This image is of Antelope House Ruin was made from one of my two visits back in the 1990s. There is only one "public" access to the lower canyon, all other access requires a Navajo guide. Many times the monthly Story Behind has a two fold purpose, this month's Story is no different. Come mid-June VicMom and I will drive back to Yellowstone and this year Grand Teton National Parks to join up with both of our sons and 3 of 5 grandchildren. An AirBnB close to West Yellowstone will serve as a base for 10 days to access both parks sure to yield future Stories Behind. As thoughts of transitioning to a different camera format and leaving film behind I actually made a checklist of Pros & Cons. Several things stood out on the pros list to make a change. #1, the transition to a smaller and lighter camera opened up new genres of photography resulting in new interests. #2, The mystery and challenge of a new learning curve was a real interest. #3, Traveling to far off places would now be a real possibility as age becomes a consideration.
